Are Silicone Breast Implants Safe?
The FDA convened a panel to study the long term results of Silicone breast implants in Gaithesburg, Virginia on August 30 and 31st. The FDA published a white paper in June 2011 stating that silicone breast implants are safe.
Laurie Casas, MD, a past-president of ASERF, testified before the FDA: “We strongly believe that a woman’s right to choose breast implants is paralleled by her right to be fully informed of both the risks and the benefits of breast implant surgery.”
