Pre Childbirth Labiaplasty
Dr. Laurie A. Casas has had extensive experience evaluating young women for labiaplasty who have chronic pain from continual irritation and daily dissatisfaction that prevents these young women from doing normal daily activities And wearing normal age-appropriate clothes. Dr. Casas is committed to only operate on women who have symptoms because external genitalia is extremely variable in size and shape. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists cautions women to understand that individual variation in the external genitalia anatomy is normal. Dr. Casas agrees and practices careful evaluation of each patient to be sure the motivation is based on symptoms that will be resolved with the conservative reaction of excess labia tissue. ACOG’s recommendations can be read here.
