CoolSculpting to reduce post-baby belly fat
Q.: What treatment do you recommend for post-baby belly fat? I am within 5 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight but the skin around my middle is very different from before; it seems a bit looser and flabbier. I don’t seem to able to lose weight in this area very easily. What procedures for belly fat reduction really work and won’t give me too much down time?
A.: Depending on the amount of skin laxity and fat under that skin I would probably advise Coolsculpting. This is a non invasive procedure that freezes your fat in the area that is treated. It really works. Patients usually need two to three treatments that can be performed 1-2 months apart. If your skin has good elasticity and you already have a good exercise program and balanced nutrition, Coolsculpting may be an ideal solution for you. It offers the ability to target a specific area that is resistant to diet and exercise.
If your skin is lax then you may benefit from SmartLipo, which is a minimally invasive procedure that is done under local anesthesia in the office. This procedure allows me to melt your fat and tighten your skin! My best recommendation would be to come in for a consultation, so we can determine what is the best procedure for you.
