Dr. Laurie Casas is quoted in Crain’s Article about Chicago executives who seek to “turn back the clock” through the use of plastic surgery.
“There was a time when the only men coming in were men 45 to 50 wanting eyelid surgery. That still is popular,” says Dr. Laurie A. Casas, spokeswoman for the Arlington Heights-based American Society of Plastic Surgeons and associate professor of surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. But now, she says, executives also want Botox shots, laser surgeries and microdermabrasion.
“Everyone wants to look in the mirror and see themselves refreshed, awake and alert,” she says. “The signs of aging around the eyes, with drooping of the brows, extra skin of the upper lid and puffiness of the lower lid, make us look tired and sleepy, which isn’t a look anyone wants — especially an executive.”
