Restylane®
Restylane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the human body. It looks like a gel that is injected into the skin to expand wrinkles and to fill depressions in the skin. Dr. Casas will discuss with you whether Restylane® is appropriate to help fill in your wrinkles, fine lines, and volumetric deficiencies of the face, cheeks, and lips. Together, you will discuss whether Restylane® alone or in combination with Botox®, Sculptra™, or another surgical or non-surgical procedure will best achieve your expectations.
Restylane Lyft
Restylane Lyft is another hyaluronic acid filler which consists of a larger molecule that is injected deep into the skin. Restylane Lyft is used for softening deep lines and grooves in the face, such as the nasolabial folds, producing a more youthful appearance. Dr. Casas will determine whether your wrinkles and folds will be best treated with Restylane Lyft or Restylane.
Dr. Casas will inject Restylane® and Restylane Lyft when you are in the office or as part of another procedure. Dr. Casas makes every attempt to reduce any pain associated with the procedure. To keep you as comfortable as possible, she applies topical agents as well as ice or injected anesthetics to the areas of concern. After the procedure, patients typically experience minimal discomfort and mild side effects such as bruising, and they are able to immediately return to normal activities. Your results can last up to 9 months and with a repeat injection 4-9 months later the effects can last up to 18 months.
